Professional Wedding & Portrait Photography
– the answers to all your questions
What do you specialize in?
Weddings and civil-marriage ceremonies, engagements, individual and family portraits, stag and hen parties, baptisms and confirmations, portrait sessions, love shoots (see the Irish Wedding Blog at www.onefabday.com
), pregnancy (which sometimes follows the love shoots), babies and children, sporting events, events of any kind. However, I’m afraid that I don’t specialize in taking pictures of stamps.
Why do you mainly do weddings?
They’re more fun than Stamp Collecting Conventions. Did you ever attend a miserable wedding?
I can’t take any risks. Are you the right person to photograph my wedding?
I hope so. I’m a professional wedding photographer and a member of a number of professional associations. I’ve been trained by some of the best photographers in the world. I combine a documentary approach with creative flair, and a passion for photography with a drive to produce work of an exceptional standard at every wedding or portrait session.
What’s crucial, though, is what my clients say, so have a look at my testimonials.
I work in Dublin but I want to get married in my home area – at the back of beyond in Co Leitrim. Can you come to my wedding?
I do wedding photography and photo shoots of all kinds not just in the cities of Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Kilkenny and Waterford, but also in all the main towns – such as Sligo, Wexford, Athlone, Tralee, Dundalk, Drogheda, Ennis, Carlow, Port Laoise, Naas, etc – and in villages all over Ireland. I’ll even come to a place where there isn’t a village in sight (I’ll even go to Pettigo).
I also work right across Europe – in Germany, Norway, Sweden, the UK, Spain, Poland, Lithuania and France.
What events exactly do you cover?
In particular, I photograph:
A few months before your wedding, I’ll ask you to fill out a booking form, to familiarize me with the wedding arrangements.
If I’m not familiar with the venue, I’ll go there to get a feel for the location and suss out opportunities for good shots. It’s a great opportunity for me to meet up with you, if you wish, and we can discuss ideas and details. It also gives me a chance to record the locations in my sat-nav (satellite-navigation), so I know exactly where to go on the day.
How do you work on the day?
I try to combine a totally professional approach in my photography with a totally relaxed approach in my dealings with the bride, groom and guests. If the photographer is intrusive, or bosses, fusses and frets, people will stiffen up and won’t look happy. One of the key skills in wedding (and portrait) photography is putting people at their ease.
I work as unobtrusively as possible but try to make the process enjoyable, so I don’t have to ask (or force!) people to smile. I’ve got this odd notion that people in wedding pix should look happy …
I shoot the bride and groom at all the crucial moments, but also spend some time with them to get informal portraits.
Of course, a wedding is nothing without the guests, so I seek also to get an all-round, dynamic record of the whole day, taking pictures of:
And your printer?
It’s an Epson Stylus PRO 3880.
And your monitor?
A fully calibrated Eizo monitor for professional photographers (Eizo is generally accepted as the world’s leading specialist in high-quality visual-display systems).
Are you insured?
Yes, I’m fully insured – I’ve got both professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance.
I’m thrilled with your pix of my wedding that you sent me three months ago. I’m now four months pregnant and looking very fruitful. Will you take some pictures of me? Will you take pictures of my baby, my children, me, my lover – and shoot my husband?
With pleasure, though I’ll have to check my insurance cover before shooting your husband.
Weddings are my big thing, but I also specialize in Portraits.
, Newborn & Maternity, Children, Sport, Landscape … If you like, I’ll take a picture of your pet frog. Have a look at my General Galleries.
