One of the most common things I hear from my wedding day couples, brides and grooms is that they are desperately seeking to find a wedding day venue that is a little bit different. A wedding venue that their wedding guests, friends and family will not be familiar with.
I totally understand that a wedding couple wants their wedding day to feel unique and exclusively about them and their wedding day. No-one else. Martinstown House has an absolutely stunning location
for a humanist or civil ceremony on the grounds of this fabulous estate. They have a number of options to suit the theme and style of your wedding ceremony but my absolute favourite is The Woodlands.
The Woodlands wedding venue is found at the end of a magical walkway through laurel and evergreen trees. Brides and grooms that really want to be outdoors and at one with nature, this is a uniquely peaceful and tranquil space that is truly enchanting.

The background to this space is really interesting too! The owners of Martinstown House rescued what was once an old abandoned glasshouse from the woods. They used tin found in a neighbour’s field and old telegraph poles to give refurbish this old building. With a fantastic eye for detail and glamour they installed a magnificent crystal chandelier into the centre space. This wedding ceremony space has serious WOW FACTOR!
For your wedding photography photo shoot Martinstown House has an impressive front lawn, a croquet lawn but my favourite is there amazing cherry trees in the walled garden. There are so many options for your wedding photographer to choose from which is a huge point to consider when you are choosing your wedding venue for your special day.
It’s also a lovely point to note that Martinstown House do not charge extra if you decide to have your ceremony on their grounds. What a lovely gesture! Ceremonies are available from 2pm.
Your drinks reception can be held in The Secret Garden!
Bessie the Tea Caravan is yet another talking point! I have seen it used to serve tea and coffee, be turned into a bottled beer bar and a gin station!
Your wedding banquet will take place in a gorgeous Marquee setting which has a real “vintage chic” feel to it, which ties in so well after your wedding ceremony in The Woodlands. Three central poles hold up the marquee and the ceiling is elegantly draped to keep the magical vibe going!
At Martinstown House you can go for the traditional sit-down meal but they also another curveball for your wedding guests, friends and family! They have a Spit Roast option if you really want to do things differently. Organic roast lamb or organic rare breed suckling pig are on offer! That will certainly have your loved ones talking for years to come!
