Wedding Photographer of the Year 2026 – Still Buzzing!

DKPHOTO Wedding Photographer of the Year 2026!

I’m still buzzing after an incredible night at the WeddingsOnline Awards 2026, where I had the honour of winning Wedding Photographer of the Year 2026.

Even writing that feels a bit surreal.

After 17 years working in the Irish wedding industry, I still get the same excitement about weddings and wedding photography as I did when I started.

A huge thank you to the team at WeddingsOnline for supporting the industry for so many years, and congratulations to all the winners 2026 Weddings Online Awards!

A Night Like the Oscars of the Wedding Industry

The awards evening itself was absolutely brilliant.

Over 400 people from the wedding industry gathered for a black-tie gala event at Mount Wolseley Hotel. It really felt a bit like the Oscars of the wedding world.

Photographers, videographers, venue teams, makeup artists, hairdressers, and so many talented suppliers all in one room.

It was fantastic catching up with people we often only see quickly during busy wedding days.

There was also plenty of fun during the evening — a photobooth, 360 video booth, and lots of relaxed moments taking fun photos with friends from the industry.

The atmosphere honestly reminded me a little of events you see in Cannes, just a big celebration of the wedding industry in Ireland.

And of course, the food from Mount Wolseley Hotel was absolutely excellent.

Meeting Friends from Across the Wedding Industry

One of the best parts of the night was simply meeting people.

Over the years, I’ve worked with so many incredible wedding professionals across Ireland, and evenings like this are a great reminder of how lucky we are to work in such a creative industry.

Lots of laughs, lots of stories from the past wedding season — and yes… a bit of dancing later in the evening too!

17 Years Working with WeddingsOnline

I’ve been part of the WeddingsOnline community for 17 years, and it has been an important platform helping couples find wedding suppliers across Ireland.

So receiving another award from them really means a lot.

Being recognised as Wedding Photographer of the Year 2026 and being considered an award-winning wedding photographer in Ireland is something I’m very grateful for.

But honestly, the real reward is the couples who trust me to photograph their wedding day.

Always Improving – Every Year Something New

One thing I always try to do is keep improving and adding new things for couples.

Weddings evolve every year, and I love bringing new ideas into what I offer.

Photography and Video Packages

Many couples now prefer having photo and video coverage together, which is why I introduced combined wedding photography and videography packages.

It keeps everything simple and relaxed for couples and ensures a consistent storytelling style across both photos and film.

Wedding Films

Wedding video has become incredibly popular in recent years.

My packages now include options such as:

  • cinematic highlight films
  • short reels
  • full ceremony and speeches
  • longer wedding films

It’s amazing to see couples relive their wedding day through photos and video.

Analogue Film Wedding Photography

Another exciting addition has been analogue film wedding photography.

Film photography is something very personal to me because I first learned photography from my father in the darkroom when I was a child.

Now, couples can even book full-day analogue wedding photography packages to create timeless photographs with that beautiful, classic film look.

Wedding Albums

I’m also a big believer that wedding photos should be printed and enjoyed.

That’s why I offer beautiful handcrafted wedding albums that couples can keep and pass down for generations.

Helping Couples Plan Their Wedding Day

Another thing I really enjoy is helping couples plan their wedding day timelines.

After photographing weddings at many venues across Ireland, I’ve created guides for specific venues to help couples plan their day smoothly.

For example:

Wedding Questionnaire

Rathsallagh House Timeline

Clonabreany House Timeline

Ballymagarvey Village Timeline

And I’m still working on adding more venue guides.

Thank You

Winning Wedding Photographer of the Year 2026 is an incredible honour.

But the biggest thank you goes to the couples who trust me with their wedding memories.

Without them, none of this would be possible.

After all these years, I’m still excited for every wedding and every new couple I get to meet.

And yes… I’m still buzzing!
