Ballintubbert Gardens and House Wedding

I recently attended a wedding at Ballintubbert Gardens and House in Co. Laois for the very
first time. I was genuinely impressed with this wedding venue. For anyone looking to find a
a wedding venue that has old-world charm, but that also boasts beautiful gardens and a real
sense of nature all around, then Ballintubbert Gardens and House is a venue that you have
to visit before booking your wedding day venue.

So many wedding couples want to do something a little bit different on their wedding day.
With so many hotels around Ireland offering similar packages and function rooms it can be
really difficult to find a location that is a little outside of the norm.

But while your dream venue might be a vision of rustic wildflowers, that feels bohemian
and relaxed, that doesn’t mean you want to book a hay shed and have your guests drinking
out of jam jars and sitting on bales of hay!

It’s all about getting the balance right and Ballintubbert Gardens and House has that in
abundance!

Outdoor Ceremony – Ballintubbert Gardens

For the traditional bride and groom, there is a 16 th century church on the grounds which is
absolutely gorgeous. But in recent years I have heard from my wedding couples that they
have struggled to find a venue that offers an impressive option for an outdoor wedding
ceremony.

At Ballintubbert Gardens and House, they have two options for such a setup.
The Lutyens water garden is a feast for the eyes! The lake takes centre stage in this
picturesque setting and is surrounded by beautiful flowers and shrubbery. A Bride and
Groom would be exchanging their wedding vows surrounded by their family and friends, as
well as a symphony of florals and greenery that is simply breathtaking.

In addition, there is the option of the orchard which has romantic arboreal aisles to walk
through. Here again, there is a fantastic sense that you are surrounded by nature.
Cocktail O’Clock!

For your drinks reception, the sense of being immersed in nature continues. Your guests will
walk through what the venue describes as an “aromatic Rose Pergola, the abundant Potager
& scented herb garden.” It really is wonderful and there were a lot of “Ohhhs” and
“Ahhhhs” from the guests as I worked my way around this location taking photographs.
Rustic Elegance
The wedding party moves on then to the marquee where dinner is served. This really does
have the WOW factor. This is no ordinary marquee and trust me, I have seen a lot of
marquees over my many years as a wedding photographer.

Located in the Great Lawn, it is a circular marquee with a dome-like ceiling which provides
fantastic height. The layout and décor brings the outside indoors. Any wedding couple trying
to find a rustic vibe that still has a magical elegance will see Ballintubbert Gardens and
House as a real contender.

Accommodation – Ballintubbert House

The accommodation at Ballintubbert Gardens and House again ticks so many boxes to keep
all your guests happy. There are luxury rooms available in the historic house that will suit
your parents and guests that are looking for a more traditional night away. But on the flip
side there is an impressive garden venue with quirky accommodation & glamping! For the
more adventurous guests there are luxuriously furnished Yurts, hidden Bell Tents and
there’s even a Tree House!!!

The After Party Ballintubbert Gardens Wedding

Sing-a-longs around a campfire are promised well into the early morning which I love to
hear, as I know how quickly the day flies by for every wedding couple. No-one wants the
party to end so having the option to party well into the next day is a real winner for me

Wedding Photography at Ballintubbert House and Gardens

Ballintubbert Gardens and House is a wedding photographers Disney Land when it comes to the
photo shoot for the bride and groom. Around each and every corner there is a beautiful
setting and stunning back drop. You are spoilt for choice!

Happy wedding planning and I hope that my review of this gem of a wedding venue is
helpful to any brides and grooms still on the hunt for a beautiful venue with a bohemian
twist!
