Boyne Hill House – Stunning Small Wedding

Boyne Hill House – Stunning Small Wedding

Tips for Brides Planning Smaller Weddings:

We had 25 guests at our Wedding on December  2020.
If you are planning a wedding in the ever-moving tectonic plates of a pandemic-filled World,
the main thing is not to lose sight of what really matters- marrying the person you love.
Everything else is a bonus.

1. Shop local:

We sourced dresses/ suits for our wedding party locally in Navan and used a local beautician and hairdresser. This minimized the stress of wondering whether changing restrictions would force us to have to cut out vendors travelling from far away. Also, I was able to travel the short distance for dress fittings, hair and make-up trials.

2. Maximize your venue – (Boyne Hill House) :

We stayed at Boyne Hill House the night before our wedding and did all of our morning preparations there too. All of our guests had a 2 night stay in this idyllic setting, being waited on hand and foot for 48 hours, something none of us had been able to do in months.

3. Use your talented guests:

8 of our guests played music for different parts of our ceremony, and we printed the words for the final song on our wedding booklet so that we essentially had a choir- powerful stuff. My sister-in-law made our cake and another bridesmaid decorated the tables with name-tags and chalkboard slogans. The more people got involved, the more special it made everything.

4. Include those absent:

I’ve heard of lots of ways couples are doing this, but we decided to send a zoom link to family and friends who couldn’t be there. There was no one social media platform they all shared (Facebook, Instagram users vary), and we didn’t want people to have a lot of set up to do. Sending a zoom link meant they could just click on it and automatically get into our Wedding.
Our wedding photographer and videographer gave great advice on the location of the tripod recording this on the day- behind my bridesmaids at an angle, with us facing our guests to one side of the top table. Our videographer recorded a highlight video which we could share a few weeks after the day too. We also sent the menu of our wedding meal, and some of our culinary experts cooked their own versions at home!

In many ways, we preferred a small wedding- everything was simpler.

  • Less invitations to write;
  • No need for a heavy sound system;
  • More than enough time to spend with all of our guests;
  • More than enough time to spend together as a newly married couple;
  • No pressure of giving a love speech in front of hundreds of people from different aspects of your life.
Whatever happens, I hope you end up with a day full of smiles that you can remember fondly forever.

Testimonial:

We had Daniel as our Wedding photographer on December 2020- we were so lucky to have our day, and luckier to have Daniel document the whole thing. We had a good feeling about him from the start, sharing video calls with him before the big day, and he made sure to get a list of our must-have shots. We ended up with all of these, and so many more happy action shots.

Daniel Wedding Photographer from DKPHOTO  was like a part of the furniture,

catching candid shots of our morning preparations. We had decided to meet just the two of us before the ceremony, and again Daniel managed to capture all of this in first look shots without intruding on our time together. We have some amazing smiling and dancing photos of our 25 guests too.

On top of all this, the finished photographs were shared with us securely online, and the interface where we can choose our favourite shots is so easy for a client to use.

If you are looking for great quality photographs, without the pressure of a photo-shoot, Daniel is your man. I think his approach really suits smaller weddings, as he didn’t impose on anybody or pull us away from our guests at all.

How to Plan stress free wedding?

Boyne Hill House – The Dream Private Estate Home Wedding Venue

One of Ireland’s most exclusive private venues, Boyne Hill House is an exquisite country home that is perfect for those who wish to have their very own private residence for their wedding day. Surrounded by 38 acres of parklands and gardens, and overlooking the River Boyne, Boyne Hill House is an elegant manor home, full of period glamour.

Boyne Hill House has received many accolades for its exceptional wedding experience and this is truly because they go the extra mile for every couple. I’ve witnessed this myself.

The Manor House

The Manor House is a luxurious retreat with beautiful Georgian features, and it is home to 8 bedroom suites, dining rooms, a family room, a billiard room and a library, all of which will give you amazing backdrops for your wedding day photos. The estate’s stunning Bridal Suite features a four-poster bed with incredible views over the gardens as well as a luxurious bathroom.

Boyne Hill House has two choices of ceremony venues:

  • The Conservatory
  • Secret Garden

When it comes to your ‘I Do’s’, Boyne Hill House has two choices of ceremony venues. The Conservatory, which you access via a secret tunnel, features stone cut walls that are magically decorated with white fabric draping and fairy-lights to create the most incredible fairy-tale ambience for your wedding day.

Or, if you dream of getting married outside, the Secret Garden is like nothing you will have ever seen!

This breath-taking Victorian walled garden features a waterfall, bridge and orchard. How amazing does that sound? Both of these venues are a dream for photographers like me who want to capture your magical happy moments in the most beautiful of surroundings.

This amazing venue is only 35 minutes from Dublin and it is a venue I highly recommend. It is simply exquisite and perfect for those who dream of an intimate wedding set in a luxury, private estate. Check out some of my real wedding photographs from the gorgeous Boyne Hill House below.
