Lisnavagh House autumn wedding – Fiona and Sean
Wedding location:  Lisnavagh House, Co Carlow

We met…

Online, on the website Plenty of Fish

Our proposal…

Christmas in July! We met just before Christmas and when I was putting up my tree I found I had lost a lot of decorations when I moved. So for our 3rd date he bought me some colourful Christmas decorations and it was then I knew he was a keeper! He proposed to me with a sparkly reindeer decoration with the ring on the antler.

Our wedding theme/colours…

Autumn. Lots of warm autumn colours and fake autumn leaves everywhere!

My dress…

Maggie Sottero, but bought at a discount shop that sold ex sample dresses in Sheffield

My hair and make up…

Makeup by Adrienne Taylor of Perfect Faces, hair by Debbie, they often work together

His suit…

Rented by Youngs rental through Debenhams

What our bridal party wore…

Dresses by Dessy, bought from La Bella Sposa, Swords

Our ceremony…

Aoife from Spiritual Ceremonies officated for us, we loved that they allowed us to completely personalise our ceremony

We chose our wedding photographer because…

We loved DKPHOTO Daniel’s style of relaxed wedding photography and capturing the feeling of the day.

“We initially decided to book Daniel when we had seen his gorgeous wedding photos; we wanted some personal and natural wedding photos of our day and not too many posed ones.

Daniel’s style suited us really well and we’re so thrilled we made the decision to have him capture our day. He was really helpful in the run up to the day and on the day itself we quickly forgot he was there, he just went about his business taking great photos.

The finished wedding photos are absolutely stunning and we couldn’t be happier with them. We have gotten so many compliments from friends and family and we are so happy to have such a beautiful reminder of our special day.

I couldn’t recommend Daniel highly enough”

We chose our wedding venue because…

We loved the style of the main Lisnavagh House  and the ceremony and dinner space were completely blank so we could decorate as we wanted to make it fit with our theme.

Our menu…

Catering by Ella of Kitchen and Larder, Co Wicklow. We had so many compliments on the food, it was absolutely amazing and Ella and all her staff were so great on the day.

Our honeymoon…

2 weeks in Mauritius in January, beautiful but we did get sunburnt!

My favourite part of the wedding day…

Saying our vows, it was a very emotional and special moment

My piece of advice for other brides…

Think very carefully about what kind of venue you want. We went for a venue that we could style how we wanted, but we had to bring in our own catering and do all the decorating ourselves, including setup the day before. Ultimately we were happy that we did, but it was extremely stressful and possibly ended up more expensive doing it this way rather than going to a venue that did an all-inclusive package.
