5 tips – NEW YEARS EVE WEDDING
Book Well in Advance
As it is such a unique day of the year, you will find out really quickly that the top award-winning suppliers could easily be booked out. That is why wedding couples have to plan two or three years in advance! Book early!!!
It’s a Pricey Time of Year!
Many wedding couples are shocked and disappointed to hear that the wedding suppliers that they want to use are charging a lot more money at this time of year. You must remember, that there is HUGE demand on Dec 31st so wedding suppliers can charge more. Also, the people that agree to work for your New Year’s Eve wedding day are giving up very important time with their own friends and family. It is only worth working at this time of year if they earn more than on a normal day of the year. Be prepared for higher rates across the board!
Check Timings and the Small Print!
Not every wedding photographer and videographer will stay until midnight. Remember, the first dance normally starts at 9.30pm/10pm latest. On a normal wedding day, you would secure your wedding photographer up until this time. You definitely need to agree with your wedding photographer that they will stay until midnight.
Bar Extension
As your party is only getting started at midnight you need to make sure that your venue has the option to keep the bar open until 2.30pm/3pm. You will probably have to pay a fee for this but it is vital to keep your guests entertained into the early morning.
The Midnight Munch
Delay the evening food to as late as your venue will allow. I always see food served at 11pm going to waste as your friends and family will still only be digesting the beautiful meal you served them when this second wave of food arrives. It’s far more valuable to have fish and chip cones, mini pizzas or Tayto sandwiches arrive out at 1am!
REAL WEDDING INSPIRATIONVIENNA WOODS HOTEL CORK
I got to spend last new years eve with a fantastic wedding couple Pamela and Andrew, at the Vienna Woods Hotel Cork. This is an exceptional wedding venue that you should consider if you love the idea of a New Year’s Eve wedding day!
You will reach the beautiful grounds of Vienna Woods Hotel Cork, by a driveway that swirls around one of Glanmire’s peaks. The original Regency design building is breathtaking when you arrive and it acted as a fantastic backdrop for some of their wedding photographs with the groomsmen and bridesmaids.
You will be wowed by the view as this hotel is set over-looking the Glashaboy River below, a tributary to the River Lee.
This riverbank is home to beautiful swans and Pamela and Andrew got some incredible wedding photographs taken with these elegant creatures in the backdrop.
Really special photographs that are unique to this wedding venue.
