“From the minute I booked Daniel he was an absolute pleasure to work with. He replies to emails straight away. He is extremely talented at his job and put everyone at ease on our wedding day. I couldn’t have wished for better wedding photographer.

We are thrilled with the quality and the memories he captured on the day.

He worked very hard and long hours to have our wedding photos ready before Christmas and for this we are so extremely grateful.

I would highly recommend him to any future engaged couples without hesitation. 5 Stars”

Regina & Michael

Wedding location:  The Radisson Blu Hotel Sligo, Rosses Point, Sligo

We met…

At Sea Sessions Music Festival in June 2012 in Bundoran, Co. Donegal

Our proposal…

We were on a week’s holidays in the South of Ireland. On the second last day Michael proposed on the cliffs overlooking Dingle Bay and Skellig Michael in March 2016 with a token ring. We then went to Dublin the next day to get the ring.

Our wedding theme/colours…

For our wedding theme we wanted everything to be simple, elegant and timeless. We want to be able to look back at our wedding in 50 years’ time and still feel like it had that timeless edge to it. That is why we went with black suits for the men and a colour scheme of burgundy and rose gold for the bridesmaids.

My dress…

My wedding dress was a Canadian brand Paloma Blanca. When I first tried on the wedding dress I had a smile ear to ear and knew it was the one but also knew I wanted to make additional adjustments to it. I had a vision of what I wanted and I found the extra pieces to add to the wedding dress online. My wedding dressmaker Ingrid from The Diamond Needle Studio who was outstanding at her job added the shoulder appliques and diamond buttons and made the bow on the wedding dress.

My hair and make up…

Hair was by Ciara in Grafter Hair Company Carrick on Shannon. Not only is Ciara so much craic but she is a true professional at her job and was a breath of fresh air on the morning of our wedding.

Make up ….

Was none only that the perfectionist Aisling Leydon Makeup Academy. Aisling is a lady and I cannot speak highly enough of her. I knew long before I got engaged who I wanted to do my make up and I was so thrilled when she was available. She is a lovely person and the bridesmaids were so happy with their makeup.

His suit…

Michaels suit was from Ejs Menswear in Sligo. We went in with an idea of what we wanted. Kazim and Mark in Ejs said they would source in what we wanted and then got it 100% perfect.  Black tie Remus 3 piece with satin lapel, tux shirt and patent shoes. Nothing was ever a problem with the staff in Ej’s Menswear.

What our bridal party wore..

The Groomsmen work 3 piece black Benetti Suits with burgundy dicky bows and the Bridesmaids wore Dessy dipped hem Burgundy dresses with rose gold shoes.

Our wedding ceremony…

Our wedding ceremony was celebrated by Fr. Gerry Hanly in St. Joesphs Church in Boyle, Co. Roscommon.  Fr. Hanly was a pleasure to deal with and was so welcoming to our families and friends. Our wedding singer was Olivia O Hanlon, another lovely person from the minute I contacted her.  She is a true professional and her singing would take your breath away.

We chose our wedding photographer because…

I had been following Wedding photographer DKPHOTO on Facebook and loved the style of his wedding photos. When we got engaged and I researched more into his website, social media and the style of wedding photos. No matter how many other wedding photographers I looked at, I still always had Daniel in the back of my head.

I contacted him and as he said he was photographing a wedding in Sligo the next day if I wanted to meet for a chat. I couldn’t believe my luck, I immediately took this to be a sign, so we met the next day.

Daniel is such a gentleman and from the minute I met him he was so kind and professional Wedding Photographer. I booked him straight away, and from then on to the wedding day any email I sent him he replied within minutes, I don’t know how he does it, but he obviously has a great team behind him (his wife Anna).

On the wedding day he just blended in like a wedding guest, you wouldn’t even know if he was there on the day taking wedding photographs. We couldn’t believe the photos he had got as we don’t even remember him been around us.  He captured the true essence of the day, happiness, love, laughter and family all while not been intrusive on our day together. I would highly recommend Daniel – DKPHOTO Wedding photographer to any future brides. You won’t be let down.

We chose our wedding coordinator because…

Denise Meenaghan was our wedding coordinator in The Radisson Blu Hotel. This woman is superwoman, she is so efficient in everything she does, anything she could do she did and she was a pleasure to work with. Pawel and Aisling greeted us on our wedding day. These two people ran the function room like clockwork. They are so organised and nice to everyone.

We chose our venue because…

We were guests at a few weddings in The Radisson Blu Sligo before we got engaged and knew the standard was very high. From the minute we met with Denise there was no question about another venue. The food is absolutely 5 star with award winning Head chef Joe Shannon from TV3 fame at the helm. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and the function room is out of this world with all the little extras like the flower arch, candelabras and fairy light backdrop to name a few.

Our menu…

We choose our menu as we wanted to be able to accommodate all tastes. It was so tasty and loads of everything. As Michaels family and friends are from Monaghan they had never had a meal in The Radisson Blu Sligo before and they were highly impressed with the meal. One full table even got 2 desserts each as they wanted what the kids were having and as per The Radisson staff nothing was a problem.

Our honeymoon…

We went on a tour of Italy for 8 days. Rome, Florence and Venice.

My favourite part of the wedding day…

Ooh its so hard to pick one favourite part.  I think walking down the aisle with my Dad and smiling at Michael and seeing him beaming back at me.

My piece of advice for other brides…

Organisation is key, ask for help from bridesmaids and family and on the day just go with the flow and it will be the best day ever.
