Maryborough Hotel Wedding

Maryborough Hotel Wedding Lynn and Patrick

“From the start, Daniel was brilliant to work with. Getting back to my emails straight away. On the day you wouldn’t even know that he was there which was perfect for my new husband who hates getting his photo taken, he really put him at ease and he even said he was a ‘grand fella’. My wedding photos were more than I could have wished for and I’m absolutely delighted with them. I had them two weeks after the wedding which I couldn’t believe, though it would take months. I would highly recommend our Wedding Photographer : DKPHOTO. 5 star all the way. ?????????? “

How we met:

We met when I was 17 and when Paddy was 19. Childhood Sweethearts.

The proposal:

We went to Fota Golf Resort for our lunch and then went for a walk around the grounds, we then reached a fabulous gazebo and a bridge and he proposed on the bridge and he gave me a pandora bracelet with a ring box charm. I love it and wear it all the time.

Our wedding theme/ colours:

I’m obsessed with Rose gold and couldn’t believe my look when I found rose gold bridesmaids dresses. I wanted everything to be warm looking so I felt burgundy, rose gold, greens and greys would work well together.

My dress:

My dress is Haley Paige. I got it in Memories Bridal Boutique, Patrick’s quay, Cork. The minute I saw it I just loved it, wanted blush colour and beading and it was everything I wanted!

Hair:

Louise Byrne Mobile hair stylist. It was exactly what I wanted, love the colour of my hair and didn’t want it up but still wanted it styled. Louise was fabulous to work with and came all the way from Ennis to Cork for me.

Makeup:

Jennifer Keating. Loved my makeup, very natural and lasted all day. Jennifer was great fun to have in the house on the morning and put everyone at ease.

His suit:

We got it in Simply Suits, Cork. Conor looked after us there and totally made Paddy feel at ease.

What our bridal party wore:

The girls bridesmaids dresses were from Cari’s Closet and the boys suits were from Mr. Mister Menswear in Mitchelstown.

Our ceremony:

Our ceremony was celebrated by our family friend Fr. Terry and he just made it so personal, welcoming and funny for us all. We had Deborah Murphy as our wedding singer and she was fantastic, just a fabulous voice. Our priest even said if he was getting married in the morning he would have Deborah.

Chose Wedding Photographer because:

This was an area I did a huge amount of research for, I LOVE photos and knew which style I loved and definitely what I didn’t like. It was a girl at work recommended him to me and the minute I saw his work I knew he was what we wanted. His method of ‘creative photography‘ was exactly what I wanted, to capture all parts of the day without being too staged. Paddy absolutely hates getting his photo taken and he didn’t even know he was there for a lot of the day and put him at total ease when we were doing our wedding photoshoot. So delighted we went with Daniel. Love how our pictures turned out and he got every detail of the day.

Chose our Maryborough Hotel wedding  coordinator because:

We met with Niamh when we went to have a look at the Wedding at The Maryborough Hotel and we hit it off straight away. I had some different ideas and nothing was a problem. We just had family for the ceremony and the meal in the orangery and then a big party at 8 with a room change to the main room. Everything worked to perfection and everyone was delighted with the way it was done.

Why we chose the venue:

Well the reputation of The Maryborough Hotel  is well known and when we went to see it, it was perfect for us, old world with modern touches which is exactly what I like. The orangery really was what clinched it for me. It was the most perfect room I ever saw and loved having our meal in there with the flowers and the fairy lights hanging off the ceiling when it was dark outside, really felt magical. Wedding at The Maryborough Hotel is always something magical !

Our menu:

The meal was absolutely fabulous. It suited all our guests and everyone raved about it. Nothing again was a problem, my Mom is celiac and my cousin is vegan and they had fabulous meals too. My cousin said it was the nicest thing she ever ate.

Honeymoon:

We did a mini moon to The Wineport in Athlone and then to the Meric in Galway. We had a lovely few days and we were delighted we stayed in Ireland because we were just so tired. We are hoping to do two different holidays for our honeymoon, the Amalfi coast in Italy in September and also skiing in February.

Favourite part of the day:

I really enjoyed the mass, it felt really personal and we really felt so much love and well wishes from all our family and friends. We got our photos taken in Glenville Park and I loved that also, the weather made such a difference and the sun even shone.

Piece of advice for other brides:

All the planning really makes a difference, everything will be worth it all on the day. You will have it all done and you just have to trust everyone else that it will be done the way you want. And the same line everyone says to just enjoy it, it really does go too fast.
